Béchamel (Cream) Sauce for WW HE CAD
This is very very good and so versatile. It can become hamburger gravy, part of macaroni and cheese or anything at all that needs a white sauce. The addition of salsa makes it ideal for making enchiladas. It is wonderful that it can be frozen in ramekins and easily re-heated.
Here goes and this is for 4 servings. I usually make double
2 c. hot ff milk 2 tbs. light butter or marg. 3 tbs. all purpose flour 3/4 tsp or less salt Black pepper to taste.
Heat butter in non-stick sauce pan and when sizzling, add flour and stir and let it heat up but NOT get brown (changes the taste) Quickly add the hot milk and stir like made either with a whisk or electric beater. Cook for about 5 min. or until it is thick.
Makes 4 serving. Each serving= 1/2 milk, 1 fat and 20 calories. You can figure the points easily. 2.5p.
