Portobello Burgers
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar 1 tbsp. olive oil 3 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 tsp. dried basil 1/2 tsp. dried oregano dash of salt & pepper 2 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed 2 slices reduced fat provolone cheese{or your choice} 2 hamburger buns, split 2 lettuce leaves 2 slices tomate
In a bowl, whisk the first 7 ingredients. Add mushroom caps; let stand for 15 minutes. Coat grill rack with non-stick cooking spray before starting the grill. Drain & reserve marinade. Grill mushrooms, covered ,over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until tender, basting with the reserved marinade. Top with cheese during the last 2 minutes. Serve on buns with lettuce & tomato.
Yield: 2 servings, includes the bun
1 burger = 280 calories, 13 grams fat, 3 grams fiber, 11 grams protein
