225gms. semolina 1 tsp baking powder 125 grms plain phillidelphia low fat cheese pinch salt 3 Tbsp splends 1 beaten egg skimmed milk low sugar jam
cream l/fat cheese and egg together, stir in semolina, baking powder, splenda and salt. add milk drop by drop to make a soft manageable dough. the wetter the mix the lighter the buns. spray a baking tray with spray oil and spoon dough onto tray to form buns. press a hole in the middle and add jam.
Bake for 15 -20 min at 220c. makes about 10 good size buns
variations.
I added 2 Tbsp dessicated coconut and 1 tsp vanilla extract to one batch. and 1 tsp cinnamon to another and put a small tsp stewed apple in a small dent in the centre of each one.
My DH thinks they are winners and prefers them to his usual cakes that I usually buy him.
Pastry.
200grm semolina 1 tsp baking powder 100grm philly low fat cheese pinch salt 1 beaten egg skimmed milk as needed a little beaten egg. for brushing on before baking for a sweet pastry I added 1Tbs splenda
make as the jam buns but when dough is formed put in fridge for 30 min. sticks when you try to roll it but presses out easily.
It makes a lovely fruit tart
Will calculate the Points & then post the results.....Carol
