Special Creamed Peas
3 1/2 cups frozen peas, thawed 1(4 oz.) jar sliced mushrooms,chopped and undrained 2 teaspoon Splenda Granular 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon I can't Believe it's not butter light margarine 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 1 cup fat free milk 1/2 cup Land O Lakes fat free half & half 3 tablespoon all- purpose flour
In a large saucepan, combine peas and undrained mushrooms.Cook over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes Stir in Splenda ,margarine and black pepper. In a covered jar , combine milk, half & half and flour. Shake well to blend, Pour milk mixture into pea mixture. Continue cooking for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens, stirring often.
Serves 8 ( 1/2 cup) --each serving equals: HE: 1 brd 1/4 fat 1/4 veg 1/4 si 2oc 85 cal 1g fat 5g pr 14g cal 160mg so 77mg ci 3 g fi Diabetic Exchange: 1 starch
