Tater Tot Casserole 72 Onion flavored Tater Tots 1 lb. extra lean ground beef 1 chopped onion 1 can low fat cream of mushroom soup 1 can low fat cream of chicken soup 1 1/2 cups finely shredded reduced fat cheddar cheese Brown ground beef & onion together, then drain. Mix in both cans of soup. Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with Pam and arrange the tater tots in a single layer. Top with the beef/soup mixture, and spread the cheese on top. Bake @ 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Serves: 12 Points: 4.5 per serving NOTES: I revised this recipe a wee bit. 1: I added 1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms{or canned} 2: for extra flavor I added beef bouillon to the meat mixture.Don't add any extra salt. 3: because I hate pale looking gravy with ground beef I added a gravy darkening liquid.Just a few drops made a big difference. 4: We can't get the onion flavored tater tots so I used the regular. 5: Last but not least.....the recipe says to bake it for 30 minutes. I bake it for ONE HOUR. the flavors blend together better & the tater tots form kind of a crispy crust on the bottom. Syd requested this casserole & is even taking it to school for her lunch!
